About cooklin
cooklin is a cartoonist and zinester based in Vancouver, Washington, USA. Her work combines a simplistic drawing style and humorous tone with complex stories of human resilience, predominant topics including rural life, spirituality, women's issues, and illness. Major works by cooklin include Anhecomics, the Asexual Things comic strip series, and the graphic memoir Ace of Hearts: Lessons in Love from an Asexual Girl, published by Street Noise Books.
Originally from the Midwest, she has a BFA in Filmmaking from University of North Carolina School of the Arts and an MA in Mass Communication from California State University, Northridge. She teaches classes about comics at Clark College and is a volunteer Docent at the Northwest Museum of Cartoon Arts.
When she is not working, she can be found exercising, reading a book while sipping a tea latte at one of her favorite local coffee shops, or spending time with her partner and their cat Winnie.
